United's check-in deadlines require all passengers to complete check-in before these times, regardless of baggage.

Not eligible for online check-in: passengers with more than four segments, more than nine travelers, Basic Economy with personal item only, pet travel, special assistance needs, or international flights needing document verification. These cases require airport or kiosk check-in.

For voice check-in, call 1-866-551-1186 or 1-800-864-8331 and follow prompts. Provide reservation details and receive boarding documents via email or print at a kiosk.

At the airport, use self-service kiosks to check in, select seats, and print boarding passes and baggage tags. Kiosks close 45 minutes before domestic and 60 minutes before international flights. At staffed counters, check in for complex itineraries, special needs, or document review. Curbside check-in is available at select U.S. airports between 4 hours and 30 minutes before departure.

For Basic Economy tickets, check-in is restricted if no checked bag is included. United may require confirmation that only one personal item is carried.

Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights even if checked in online. Bring your boarding pass, ID, and any required travel documents.
