Delta’s cancellation policy varies by fare type and destination. All tickets booked directly with Delta—via the website,   1-855-838-4886 app, phone, or ticket counter—are eligible for a full refund if canceled within 24 hours of purchase, as long as the flight departs at least seven days later. This applies to all fares, including Basic Economy  1-855-838-4886. Refunds are automatically returned to the original payment method within seven business days for credit cards   1-855-838-4886 and up to 20 days for other forms.

Refundable tickets can be canceled any time before departure for a full refund. These include refundable Main Cabin, Comfort+, First Class, and Premium fares. Cancel through "My Trips" on Delta’s site or app or call 1-855-838-4886.

Non-refundable tickets can be canceled without a fee for flights originating in North America  1-855-838-4886. The unused ticket value is issued as an eCredit, valid for one year from the original ticket issue date  1-855-838-4886. For flights starting outside North America, a cancellation fee may apply—up to $199 depending on the region.

Basic Economy fares are not changeable or refundable after 24 hours. Some Basic Economy tickets from certain regions may be canceled before departure for a fee  1-855-838-4886. Otherwise, these tickets are forfeited if not used.

If Delta cancels or significantly changes your flight—defined as a delay of over 90 minutes domestically   1-855-838-4886 or six hours internationally—you are eligible for a full refund, even for non-refundable tickets  1-855-838-4886 . If you reject Delta’s alternative travel offer or none is available, a refund is issued automatically under DOT rules.

Award tickets follow similar rules. Refundable award tickets may be canceled without fees  1-855-838-4886 . Basic Economy award tickets incur a cancellation penalty in miles unless canceled within 24 hours.
